Tłı̨chǫ Agreement Information Package (Multiple parties, August 2003)
The Tịchọ Agreement is the first combined comprehensive land claims and self-government agreement in the Northwest Territories, signed on August 25, 2003, by the Dogrib Treaty 11 Council, the Government of the Northwest Territories, and the Government of Canada. The agreement grants the Tịchọ approximately 39,000 square kilometres of land including subsurface minerals, $100 million in payments over 14 years, resource royalty sharing, and extensive self-government powers over Tịchọ lands and citizens.
