Aquatic Effects Monitoring Program (AEMP) Design Plan Version 8.1, Proposed Changes, Reasons for Decision, Ekati Diamond Mine (Wek'èezhìı Land and Water Board, July 2025)
The Wek'èezhìı Land and Water Board approved proposed revisions to the Ekati AEMP Design Plan Version 8.1 on July 9, 2025, allowing sediment quality and benthic invertebrate sampling to be conducted in 2025 rather than 2026, and removing the requirement for non-lethal Slimy Sculpin sampling in 2025. The Board also directed that Slimy Sculpin CPUE be reflected in the Aquatic Response Framework variables in the December 2025 submission.
