Aquatic Effects Monitoring Program (AEMP) Fish Response Plan, Version 1.0, Ekati Diamond Mine (Dominion Diamond, April 2016)
This Aquatic Response Plan for Fish addresses low action level exceedances detected in 2012 for tissue metals (antimony, molybdenum, selenium, uranium) and EROD activity in lake trout and round whitefish at the Ekati Diamond Mine, submitted to the Wek'èezhìi Land and Water Board in compliance with Water Licence W2012L2-0001. The report describes the likely causes of exceedances (elevated metal concentrations in water and sediments downstream of the Long Lake Containment Facility and King Pond Settling Facility), ecological implications, and proposes response actions including toxicology literature review and fish growth studies to establish medium and high action levels.
