Assessing the Application of Decision Analysis in Stakeholder Consultation in the Mining Industry (Andrew Thrift, 2005)
This Master's thesis evaluates the application of Multiple Accounts Analysis (MAA), a decision analysis-based Structured Decision Process, as a tool for stakeholder consultation regarding tailings management optimization at the Ekati Diamond Mine in the Northwest Territories. The study, based on questionnaires and interviews with process participants, assesses the effectiveness of this innovative approach to multi-stakeholder consultation in the Canadian mining industry and provides recommendations for future application.
