Comments on Amendment to BHP Land Use Permit N96C489, Ekati Diamond Project (Northern Environmental Coalition, September 1996)
The Northern Environmental Coalition writes to the Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development expressing concerns about the amendment of BHP's land use permit N96C489 for the Ekati Diamond Project at Lac de Gras, arguing that the permit amendment allows construction to proceed prematurely and undermines negotiations for a binding environmental agreement and Aboriginal benefit agreements.
