This is a 2024 supplemental report on the Effective Neutralization Potential (ENP) investigation at the Ekati Diamond Mine, prepared by Geosyntec Consultants for Arctic Canadian Diamond Company. The report presents results from extended kinetic testing (up to 162 weeks) and post-kinetic mineralogical analysis to evaluate how site-specific variables such as temperature, mineralogy, particle size, and mineral reactivity affect the acid neutralization capacity of waste rock, with findings that metasediment samples maintained sufficient ENP to neutralize acidity until Week 108, after which pH decreased toward acidic conditions, and that temperature, sulphide oxidation rates, and silicate mineral weathering are key factors influencing ENP at the mine.
