Larry Lake and Leslie Lake Reconnaissance Surveys, Ekati Diamond Mine (BHP Billiton, December 1998)
Rescan Environmental Services conducted reconnaissance surveys of Larry Lake and Leslie Lake on September 1, 1998 to assess potential impacts from mine effluents and operations. Larry Lake showed evidence of nutrient enrichment with elevated phytoplankton biomass, while Leslie Lake remained largely pristine except for elevated nitrate concentrations from dam construction activities.
