Long Lake Containment Facility (LLCF) Downstream Dilution Study, Ekati Diamond Mine (BHP Billiton, June 2004)
This report presents a downstream dilution study of effluent discharged from the Long Lake Containment Facility (LLCF) into a chain of lakes leading to Lac de Gras. A mass balance dilution model was developed, calibrated against historical water quality data from 1997-2003, and used to predict water quality compliance with CCME guidelines and proposed water licence criteria for 2004-2015.
