Nero Lake Reconnaissance Survey, Ekati Diamond Mine (BHP Billiton, January 2001)
A one-day reconnaissance survey of Nero Lake conducted on August 5, 2000 to characterize water quality, sediment quality, and biological communities during summer 2000. Results indicate water quality similar to other Koala Watershed lakes with naturally elevated sediment arsenic and nickel concentrations, elevated nitrate levels, and healthy phytoplankton and zooplankton assemblages dominated by cyanobacteria and cyclopoid nauplii respectively.
