Panda and Koala Deposition Study, Ekati Diamond Mine (Dominion Diamond, August 2018)
This technical memorandum presents linked physical and chemical models for Panda, Koala North, and Koala pit lakes at the Ekati Diamond Mine to evaluate post-closure pit lake water quality following placement of fine processed kimberlite (FPK) and freshwater caps. The study investigates FPK consolidation, pore water release, inflow volumes, hydrodynamic mixing conditions, and predicts supernatant water quality over a 200-year post-closure period.
