Panda Diversion Channel Monitoring Program Technical Report, Ekati Diamond Mine (BHP Billiton, January 2003)
This technical report presents findings from the 2002 Panda Diversion Channel (PDC) Monitoring Program at the Ekati Diamond Mine, documenting hydrology, fish communities, habitat stability, and benthic and periphyton communities in the channel designed to compensate for habitat lost to mining operations. The 2002 monitoring year was characterized by low spring precipitation and peak flows, yet Arctic grayling continued to extensively utilize the PDC for spawning and migration with the second-highest numbers recorded since monitoring began in 1998.
