Prediction of Water Quality for the Long Lake Containment Facility (LLCF), Ekati Diamond Mine (BHP Billiton, January 2004)
This report presents revised water quality prediction modelling for the Long Lake Containment Facility (LLCF) at Ekati Diamond Mine, comparing two scenarios for discharge of treated Fox Pit mine water into different cells. The revised mass balance model incorporates updated site water balance data, treatment removal factors, and cell removal factors to predict discharge water quality concentrations for 26 parameters from 2003 through 2015, with all predicted maximum concentrations remaining below Water Licence effluent requirements.
