Proposed Chloride Discharge Criterion for the Sable Kimberlite Pipe Development, Ekati Diamond Mine (BHP Billiton, January 2007)
This report proposes a site-specific chloride discharge criterion of 1,332 mg/L for discharges from Two Rock Sedimentation Pond related to potential Sable kimberlite pipe mining operations at EKATI Diamond Mine, based on toxicological testing establishing an aquatic threshold (HC5) of 313 mg/L and hydrodynamic modelling demonstrating a dilution factor of 4.26 in Horseshoe Lake over 21-day periods.
