Proposed Tailings Facility, Submission to Water Technical Session (GNWT, February 1996)
The Northwest Territories Departments of Renewable Resources and Safety and Public Services submitted a technical review of the proposed NWT Diamonds Project (Ekati) tailings facility design, concluding that frozen core dams are acceptable for the site but recommending modifications to address freeboard adequacy and proposing concentration of tailings in upper watershed areas to reduce long-term erosion risks.
