Sediment Loading to Kodiak Lake Through the Panda Diversion Channel, Ekati Diamond Mine (BHP Billiton, September 1997)
This report documents a sediment survey of Kodiak Lake conducted in August 1997 to assess sediment loading from the Panda Diversion Channel, which was constructed to maintain water connection between Panda and Kodiak lakes during mining operations at the NWT Diamonds Project. Results show that channel sediments were primarily confined to the delta at the channel mouth and shallow areas within approximately 200–600 meters of the discharge point, with thicknesses ranging from 2 to over 30 centimeters.
