Waste Rock and Ore Storage Management Plan (WROMP), Version 8.0, Board Directive and Reasons for Decision, Ekati Diamond Mine (Wek'èezhìı Land and Water Board, May 2018)
The Wek'èezhìi Land and Water Board approved Version 8.0 of Dominion Diamond Ekati's Waste Rock and Ore Storage Management Plan and Version 2.0 of the Jay Road Construction Plan on May 17, 2018, with required revisions addressing uncertainties in the geochemical characterization of diabase rock discovered in the Lynx Pit and its suitability for construction use. The Board mandated a risk mitigation program including rock sampling, seepage monitoring, and additional geochemical analysis before diabase can be used as a construction material.
