Review of Cover Design Technologies for the Reclamation of Tailings (G. Ward Wilson, University of Saskatchewan, 1999)
This technical paper reviews cover design technologies for tailings reclamation across four distinct climate regimes (arid, temperate, high rainfall, and tropical monsoon) using numerical soil-atmosphere modeling. The analysis demonstrates that no single cover system design is universally applicable and that climate parameters, soil properties, and site-specific conditions must be integrated to achieve effective tailings containment and oxidation prevention.
